Using Maya Residency on iPhone

Install the app on your Home Screen, sign in, and save files. Takes about a minute.

Open this page in Safari. iPhone only lets you install the app from Safari — not Chrome, WhatsApp or Instagram. Copy mayaresidency.co.in/iphone-guide into Safari, or tap → Open in Safari.

Install the app

Pick your app first:

  1. Open the link above in Safari (the blue compass app).
  2. Tap the Share button — at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, at the top on iPad. On newer iPhones you may need to tap first.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Keep the name (Maya Student or Maya Staff) and tap Add in the top-right corner.
  5. Go to your Home Screen and open the new icon. It opens full-screen, like a normal app.
No App Store needed, and it updates by itself — you never have to reinstall.

Sign in

Choose Student, Warden or Admin on the sign-in screen.

Students

  1. Enter your 5-digit Student ID and your 6-digit passcode, then tap Sign in. Both are in your welcome email.
  2. You stay signed in on that iPhone, so you only type them once.
No account yet? Tap Create account on the same screen, fill in your details, and type the one-time code we email you. Your Student ID and passcode arrive by email straight after.
Forgot your details? Tap Forgot your Student ID or passcode? and enter the email you registered with. We'll email your Student ID and a new passcode.

Owner & wardens

  1. Choose Warden (then your hostel) or Admin.
  2. Enter your email and your 6-digit passcode and tap Sign in.
Forgot it? Tap Forgot your passcode? on the same screen. You can change your passcode any time under My Profile.
The owner account stays signed in on one phone and one computer. Signing in on a new iPhone signs out the old one.

Save downloads (staff)

  1. Tap a CSV button (fees, complaints or reports) and wait for “Preparing…”.
  2. The iPhone Share sheet opens. Tap Save to Files.
  3. Choose On My iPhone (or iCloud Drive) → Downloads and tap Save.
  4. Open it any time from the Files app. It also opens in Numbers or Excel.
You can also send the file straight to WhatsApp, Mail or AirDrop from the same Share sheet. If you see “Your file is ready”, tap Save / share file.

Problems?

I don't see “Add to Home Screen”

You're probably not in Safari. iPhone only allows it in Safari — open mayaresidency.co.in in Safari and try again. In the Share list, scroll all the way down; if it's still missing, tap Edit Actions and add it.

The icon isn't on my Home Screen

Swipe left to your last Home Screen page, or swipe down and search “Maya”. If it's not there, repeat the install steps — it takes a few seconds.

I didn't get the code or my passcode email

Check your Junk/Spam folder and wait a minute. On the Create account screen, tap send a new code. Already have an account? Use Forgot your Student ID or passcode?, or ask your warden to check your email address.

It keeps asking me to sign in

Turn off Private Browsing in Safari (it forgets you when closed), and make sure Settings → Safari → Block All Cookies is off.

A download didn't save

Downloads open the Share sheet — choose Save to Files. If nothing happens, tap the CSV button again and wait for “Preparing…” to finish. Signed out? Sign in again first.

Text is too small or too big

Use Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size, or pinch to zoom in Safari. The app follows your iPhone's settings.
